SAM - Goals of Prototype

• Create files of simulated events. Catalog events and files with the Database. Do complete bookkeeping about files and events, their creator processes etc.
• Store files using SAM "Resource Manager". Use actual robot when possible through Enstore, starting with limited STK access and moving to Grau when installed in December 1998 timeframe.
• Be ready to handle (store and track) Monte Carlo data in January 1999.

• Specify data to be accessed for analysis (as a "Project") and determine the access mode: Define a Project.
• Attach a Project to a "Station" whose resources (disk etc)  are used to make files for that Project accessible.
• Actually run projects at stations. Demonstrate multiple concurrent consumers at multiple projects running for a "long" period of time (one day). Deliver files from the Mass Store to the consumers using interface to Enstore.

• Build skeleton Analysis programs by integrating D0 application framework, d0om,  and SAM classes
